Can this machine make VIN stickers?
No. Adhesive VIN stickers normally require appropriate label stock, printing technology and durability testing. A fibre laser engraver is designed primarily for compatible metal plates and tags. We do not claim that this machine prints adhesive VIN stickers.
Laser engraving software
The supplier specifies EZCAD control software. LightBurn Galvo may be an alternative only when the supplied controller is supported. Confirm compatibility before purchasing a separate licence.
What is included?
The machine configuration selected at checkout. No VIN templates, manufacturer logos, OEM artwork or vehicle-specific designs are included. Only carry out identification work where you have lawful authority, and follow relevant DVLA and vehicle identification requirements.
VIN plate and sticker guidance
- VIN plates, stickers and UK legal guidance
- Damaged VIN stickers after repairs
- Chassis repairs, restoration and DVLA guidance
- Checking a vehicle VIN before buying
VIN Shield equipment information is presented by ONAGONE. This page does not offer ready-made vehicle VIN stickers or plates.
Choosing between a replacement VIN sticker and metal VIN plate equipment
Vehicle identification can appear on a dashboard label, door aperture sticker, metal data plate or chassis stamping. These are not interchangeable. A damaged adhesive sticker does not automatically mean a metal plate should be substituted. Check the vehicle manufacturer’s documentation, ownership records and applicable DVLA requirements before deciding on any replacement.
VIN sticker printing equipment
Adhesive identification labels can require thermal-transfer or other industrial printing equipment, compatible weather-resistant media, suitable adhesives and durability testing. Tamper-evident constructions may need specialist materials and validation. We do not currently list a VIN sticker printer on this page.
VIN plate engraving equipment
A fibre laser can mark compatible metals without ink or consumable ribbon. Our 20W/30W fibre laser marking machine is intended for workshops working with authorised metal data plates, asset tags and identification components. Confirm the substrate, marking area, laser safety arrangements and software controller before purchasing.
Who might use a metal data plate engraver?
- Restoration and specialist engineering workshops with documented authorisation
- Manufacturers of industrial equipment and machinery data plates
- Businesses marking inventory, asset and serial-number tags
- Professional engravers producing permitted metal identification signage
Frequently asked questions
Does the machine include VIN sticker templates?
No. No vehicle-specific templates, manufacturer logos or OEM artwork are supplied.
Will a 20W or 30W machine work on any metal?
No. Results depend on the alloy, surface finish, coating, marking parameters and the laser configuration. Test the intended substrate.
Is LightBurn included?
No. The supplier specifies EZCAD. LightBurn Galvo support depends on the installed controller and must be checked independently.
Can the machine print replacement windscreen or door VIN stickers?
No. This listing is for metal marking, not adhesive label printing.
Is a replacement VIN label automatically legal in the UK?
No. Requirements depend on the vehicle and circumstances. Do not alter or misrepresent a vehicle's identity; retain evidence of lawful authority and seek relevant DVLA or manufacturer guidance.
