Understanding Hypoallergenic Fragrance Claims
The term hypoallergenic can sound reassuring, but no fragrant cosmetic can be assumed incapable of causing an individual reaction.

WHAT THE WORD SUGGESTS
Ingredients affect people differently, and a familiar material may be unsuitable for someone with a particular allergy. Oil-based formulations are not automatically free from allergens.
WHAT IT DOES NOT GUARANTEE
A claim should be supported by evidence relevant to the finished product. Even then, personal suitability cannot be promised for everyone.
HOW TO CHOOSE
Read allergen information carefully and seek appropriate medical guidance if you have a history of significant reactions.
THE FINER DETAIL
Terms on cosmetic packaging deserve careful attention. Broad claims are not a substitute for specific, substantiated information about the finished product. The Signature Five are currently presented as design concepts; finished fragrance formula details and availability are confirmed separately.
